Sparex Auto (“Sparex”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Sparex Auto mobile application and the website at sparexauto.app (together, the “Service”). The Service connects vehicle owners with auto-parts suppliers in Ethiopia.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information when you use the Service and the rights you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the marketplace and deliver parts to you.
2.1 Information you provide
- Account & identity. Your phone number, which you verify by a one-time password (OTP) at sign-in, and your name and profile photo if you choose to add them.
- Vehicle details. The make, model, year, and other specifications of the vehicles you save to your garage.
- Delivery addresses. The addresses and location pins you add so suppliers know where to deliver.
- Part requests. The parts you request, descriptions, and any photos you upload to identify a part.
- Orders & communications. Quotes you accept, order history, and messages exchanged about a request.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device & usage data. Device model, operating system, app version, language, and in-app activity used to keep the app reliable and secure.
- Approximate & precise location. With your permission, your location is used to surface nearby suppliers and set delivery points. You can use the app with addresses you enter manually instead.
- Push tokens. A Firebase Cloud Messaging token so we can notify you about quotes and order updates.
- Diagnostics. Crash and performance data to help us fix problems.
3. How we use your information
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Match your part requests to relevant, nearby suppliers.
- Process quotes, orders, and deliveries.
- Send transactional notifications (OTP codes, quotes, order status).
- Provide support and respond to your requests.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. How we share your information
We share information only as needed to run the Service:
- Suppliers. When you place a request or accept a quote, the relevant supplier receives the details needed to fulfil it — such as the requested part, your delivery area, and contact needed for delivery.
- Service providers. We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, messaging, and analytics) and an SMS provider to deliver OTP codes. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
- Legal & safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Device permissions
- Location — to find nearby suppliers and set delivery points.
- Camera & photos — to attach a photo of a part or set a profile picture.
- Notifications — to alert you about quotes and order updates.
Each permission is optional and requested only when needed. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls provided by Google Firebase, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to authorized personnel only.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and update your profile, vehicles, and addresses in the app.
- Turn location or notification permissions on or off at any time.
- Request a copy of your personal data or ask us to correct it.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (see below).
9. Account & data deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time by emailing ibrahimakrem98@gmail.com from the phone number or email associated with your account, or by using the in-app account deletion option where available. We will remove your personal data except where we are required to retain certain records by law (for example, transaction records). Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
